BunKen（Ｂｕｎｋｅｎ　Ｎａｇａｎｏ） Classical Guitar／Ｃｏｌｕｍｂｉａ　Ｍｕｓｉｃ　Ｅｎｔｅｒｔａｉｎｍｅｎｔ

　In 1974, Bunken Nagano obtained a diploma from the Master Class of Oscar Ghiglia who was a disciple of Andres Segovia, and headed towards a professional career.

　In 1978, he enrolled at the Elisabeth University of Music in the classic guitar course at the age of thirty, .
　Later, continuing his studies, he established a reputation as a musician who plays notes full of graceful gentleness that resonate with truth.

His rich and graceful style of playing has earned him the nickname "Magician of the Six Strings."
　He is active in many areas and is involved in arranging and composing.

1982

　In 1994, he appeared at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall in New York. He has earned a reputation as a world-class guitarist.

　La Cumparsita, a CD commemorating his Carnegie Hall appearance, was released in 1996 and is still popular today.
　This CD release originates from the score, La Cumparsita- Favorite Arrangements for Guitar, published by the Gendai Guitar CO.,Ltd.

　In July 1997, BunＫen appeared with actress Sayuri Yoshinaga in Hiroshima, accompanying her reading of poetry on the subject of the atomic bomb.
　Since 1998, his CDs have been broadcast worldwide through NHK radio and Radio Japan.
　

　He got an award for Distinguished Contribution to the Hiroshima City Administration in 2005.

　On August 6, 2006, he joined Universal Peace Day in New York.

　In October 2006. he played in front of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, Ikebana International Honorary President.

　On June 4, 2007, he got a record “A Thousand Wind/BunKen Guitar Solo Albumk”deal with a major label., Columbia Music Entertainment.

　On 25 October 2008,BunKen played at United Nations Day for the ceremony of “NAGASAKI 1945 Angelus Bell” screening.

　He was a member of the jury for Tokyo International Guitar Competition, the Musicians Union of Japan, and JASRAC.

　He is the Director of the Bunken Nagano Guitar Institute, a Director of the Japan Federation of Guitarists.

　Originally from Nagasaki prefecture, he makes his home in Hiroshima City.
